Frequently Asked Questions
What is airbrush make-up? How is it different from regular make-up?
Airbrush make-up gives a light, flawless finish for up to 18 hours—preferable for long wedding-days. It is applied with a wand brush using a small electric generator. The wisp of air filled with exclusive make-up is similar to blowing out a candle. The coverage appears light and natural, covering skin flaws as well as scars, tattoos, birthmarks, etc. Air brush make-up must always be applied by a professionally trained artist who is skilled in the technique, like those from HUES by Heather.
Is a bridal consultation necessary?
Half of our bridal clients prefer a separate consultation. Others combine the consultation at the time of the bridal portrait, having confidence in the experience of HUES by Heather artists based upon the portfolio on this web page. The minimum rate for a bridal portrait is two hours, which is ample time for changes due to personal preferences for make-up application. The bride’s make-up choices and comfort level guide the hair and make-up artistry.
How early must I book my bridal portrait and wedding with HUES by Heather?
Bookings normally occur three months to one year in advance. Earlier bookings secure the date, price and availability of an artist as well as the total time for multiple members of the wedding party.
What if I am not sure how many of my wedding party will need hair and make-up?
It is always best to book the bride and those members of the wedding party whom you know will need hair and make-up. Others can be added later if the artist is available.
What about payment?
To secure a booking, a 50% deposit is required by check, cash, or credit card. The balance is due two weeks prior to the wedding.
